The primary purpose of this job is to function as an assistant to the Maintenance Supervisor while still conducting repair duties associated with the Maintenance Mechanic position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Trouble shoot and repair all equipment at the plant as needed.
Perform preventative maintenance procedures as needed.
Operate a fork lift.
Operate scissor lift.
Trouble shoot, repair and/or replace pumps and piping systems.
Trouble shoot and repair and/or modify electrical wiring and controls circuits.
Trouble shoot, repair and/or replace electrical motors, gearboxes, drive systems, hydraulic systems and pneumatic systems.
Provide technical assistance to Maintenance Technicians and plant as required.
Identify training opportunities and recommend training department wide.
Plan and coordinate Maintenance Training.
Acts as Maintenance lead to of Maintenance Technicians
Represent the Maintenance Department in plant wide shift change and participate in Lead training.
Coordinate maintenance functions in the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor
Supervisory Responsibilities

Education and/or Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience as a plant Maintenance Tech.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
Logix and Wonder Ware experience required.
Knowledge of safety practices and ability to follow designated safety procedures.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with peers, co-workers, scientists, researchers, supervisors, customers and vendors as required.
Ability to follow instructions.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical materials.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from peers, managers and co-workers.
Ability to follow instructions and respond to management direction.
Identifies unsafe work conditions in the work area. Reports safety hazards to supervisor or safety coordinator.
