Job Title: Warehouse Worker Job Description
This role supports a fast-paced warehousing environment by accurately picking, moving, and organizing materials to fulfill customer orders and maintain efficient operations. You will handle high-value equipment, ensure accurate shipments and receipts, and contribute to a safe, orderly, and well-documented warehouse and data center facility.
Responsibilities
Pick parts and materials according to customer orders and place them in designated work areas in an accurate and timely manner.
Read and interpret customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, and related documents to determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed, or shipped.
Move items from bulk containers, racks, shelves, or bins following a predetermined sequence such as size, @type, style, color, or product code.
Assist in counting and accurately tracking materials or items received or distributed, including supporting physical inventory counts as needed.
Maintain control of materials and inventory to ensure accuracy, traceability, and proper handling of all items.
Maintain accurate records of inventory movements, shipments, receipts, and other warehouse activities.
Ensure shipments and receipts are completed accurately and on time in alignment with site production goals and performance targets.
Initiate and maintain open communication with customers, third-party vendors, and internal departments to verify and escalate service orders when needed.
Respond to and resolve inquiries related to orders, inventory, shipments, and warehouse activities in a professional and timely manner.
Organize the facility, warehouse, and work areas for orderliness at all times by following 5S principles.
Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and related material handling tools in a safe and efficient manner.
Work the schedule required to meet production goals and key performance indicators, understanding that schedules may fluctuate based on business needs.
Use RF scanners and related technology to accurately pick, pack, and track materials and inventory.
Perform general labor tasks related to receiving, picking, packing, and material handling.
Follow safety rules, operating procedures, and maintenance instructions to support a safety-focused work environment.
Perform other duties as assigned to support overall warehouse and data center operations.
Essential Skills
Experience in warehouse operations including picking, packing, receiving, and material handling.
Proficiency operating a forklift, electric tug, and/or pallet jack.
Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Capability to use RF scanners for picking, packing, and tracking inventory.
Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people and demonstrate strong teamwork skills.
Flexibility to work overtime or varying shifts as required to meet business demands.
Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with significant walking throughout the shift.
Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate shipments, receipts, and inventory records.
Commitment to following safety procedures and handling high-value equipment with care.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution center, or similar material handling environment.
Experience working in environments that use 5S or other continuous improvement and organization practices.
Familiarity with handling high-value server or electronic equipment.
Ability to communicate clearly with internal teams, customers, and third-party vendors.
Comfort working with basic technology and warehouse systems to log and track inventory.
Strong organizational skills to maintain an orderly workspace and support efficient workflows.
