THE POSITION
Danville State Hospital is seeking a Custodial Worker 1 who takes pride in creating a clean and welcoming environment. This role allows you to support patient care by keeping living and treatment areas neat, safe, and comfortable. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supports the daily cleanliness and safety of Danville State Hospital by performing a wide range of custodial and housekeeping tasks. As a Custodial Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:
Surface Cleaning:Clean and wipe areas such as wash bowls, commodes, counters, walls, ceilings, and furnishings to support a healthy environment
Floor Care:Sweep, scrub, and maintain floors and entryways to ensure safe walking conditions
Equipment Care:Inspect and clean custodial equipment to maintain safe and efficient operation
Outdoor Tasks:Clear steps, ramps, and walkways to support safe pedestrian movement
Waste Handling:Collect and dispose of trash, recyclables, infectious waste, and hazardous materials according to safety guidelines

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 3:30 PM to 11:30 PM, Saturday - Friday, 30-minute lunch with every other weekend off.
Work hours may change based on operational needs.
Overtime as needed.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Legal Requirements:
A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
