Description We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join an onsite team in Kent, Washington on a Contract basis for an expected 3-6 month assignment. This role supports day-to-day accounting operations with a strong emphasis on payroll processing and accounts receivable activities in a structured, procedure-focused environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing recurring payroll cycles, assisting with reconciliations and cash application, and collaborating with colleagues in person while maintaining accuracy and consistency.

Responsibilities:

Manage weekly and biweekly payroll processing for both hourly and salaried employees, ensuring timely and accurate completion of each cycle.

Provide dependable payroll coverage during the contract period and handle related administrative tasks with close attention to established procedures.

Support accounts receivable operations by reviewing aging items, researching discrepancies, and helping resolve outstanding balances.

Perform reconciliations across assigned accounts to maintain accurate financial records and identify variances promptly.

Assist with cash posting activities and ensure receipts are applied correctly within the accounting system.

Prepare journal entries and contribute to general ledger maintenance as part of routine accounting support.

Use accounting and payroll platforms effectively to complete transactions, maintain records, and generate needed documentation.

Work closely with the accounting team onsite, communicating professionally and contributing to a cooperative office environment. Requirements - Demonstrated experience processing payroll independently in an accounting or finance setting.

Hands-on familiarity with payroll systems such as ADP, Paychex, Paylocity, or a comparable platform.

Working knowledge of accounts receivable functions, including aging review, reconciliation, and cash application.

Experience preparing journal entries and supporting general ledger accuracy.

Proficiency with Acumatica, Excel, Adobe, and Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to follow established processes closely and work effectively in a detail-oriented, procedure-driven environment.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with an onsite team.

Availability to work onsite in Kent, Washington, with flexibility for either permanent or part-time scheduling.
