Position Summary:
The A.D. Henderson University School at Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Finance and Business Specialist in Boca Raton, FL
The Finance and Business Specialist provides administrative and financial support for the FAU Lab Schools by assisting with budget, payment, and record-keeping processes, while ensuring efficient operations and excellent customer service. Supports fee collection, financial reporting, travel coordination, supplier onboarding, and communications with Lab School families and University stakeholders, while maintaining compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
Summary of responsibilities:
Works closely with FAU Lab Schools' Director of Finance and the Lab School's leadership in assigned areas to ensure the goals of the Lab Schools are met.
Provides technical support for maintaining efficient record-keeping of budget, finance, and payment activities.
Collects, monitors and generates data from various payment systems, student database and other related programs, to include but not limited to, the collection of funds for activity fees, uniforms, school meals, and field trips.
Prepares regular reports on fee collections, and other related programs.
Communicates with Lab School families regarding fees, field trips and other payment questions and concerns.
Maintains a high-level of customer service to Lab School families, and Lab School and University employees.
Develops timely parent letters and email communications.
Reviews, handles, and safeguards sensitive and confidential information with a high degree of discretion and professionalism.
Analyze work and business processes and recommend improvements and/or enhancements for efficiency.
Provide support with supplier onboarding in Workday.
Assist in the receipt verification and documentation of delivered materials and supplies.
Employs basic understanding of accounting, bookkeeping functions, and district and university operations as they pertain to accounting and business practices.
Collaborates with the appropriate school and University personnel to accomplish assigned work.
Assist with the creation of manuals and job aids.
Support the processing of travel-related payments, including flights, hotel accommodations, and registration fees.
Coordinate with hotels to manage tax exemption documentation and credit card authorization requirements.
Assists the finance team members, as directed.
Adheres to University, District, State laws, regulations, policies, and processes.
Other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
A high school diploma and five years of appropriate experience, or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.
