Job Description:

Participates in the design of detail parts, assemblies, and installations for aircraft structures, mission equipment installations, and mechanical systems installations. Engineer applies basic engineering design and/or analytical theory with understanding of structural analysis for application to integrated system design. Engineers will be responsible for research, development of layouts, preparation of engineering drawings, and coordination of design activities with Tooling, Flight Sciences, Manufacturing, and Production to ensure that designs meet requirements at minimum cost. Designs will be accomplished using world-class, three-dimensional solid modeling CAD tools and work will be accomplished with senior-level design engineers. Mechanical design engineers have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of tasks and aircraft systems on various aircraft platforms.

Qualifications:

To be eligible, applicants must be pursuing a bachelor's degree Mechanical/Aerospace/Aeronautical/Civil Engineering/closely related degree or have completed their bachelor's degree within the last 12 months, regardless of age.

Good computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office, are required.

Be able to walk to and from the flight line, work in aircraft hangar environment and board/exit aircraft is required.

Willing to travel or relocate, if necessary.

Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance at the Secret level which requires U.S. Citizenship.

Preferred Skills:

CAD skills are highly desired

Understanding of basic aircraft systems

PAY TRANSPARENCY: In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $68,000 - $126,000. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, and Vermont is $59,000 - $110,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule @type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
