This position contributes to our vision by:
? Manage the technical development of a product from conception to production
? Utilize core tools such as PFMEA, DFMA, control plans, etc.
? Collaborate with engineering, operations, tooling and other departments to resolve issues and improve processes. May develop new tools as needed.
? Review and approve or reject engineering drawings in accordance with internal DFM guidelines and requirements. Propose changes and updates to DFM guidelines.
? Create and maintain detailed work instructions
? Ensure design and process are sufficient to produce the quality of product required by internal and external standards. Support related improvements and projects.
? Support production areas, fabrication and final assembly, when new product is being launched to quickly address and correct and issues that may arise
? Determine root causes of failures or production problems and recommend changes to designs, tolerances, or processing methods

Candidate skills & requirements

B.S degree in a related technical field (e.g.: Industrial Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer/Technology, Aeronautics Engineer, or Electrical Engineer) or an Associate degree with 6 years related experience or 12 years of job related experience
Three years of manufacturing experience required in a Manufacturing Engineer, Industrial Engineer or related Engineering capacity
Applicable experience may be acquired prior to, during, or following completion of degree.
Six Sigma or Lean certification preferred
Catia V.5 or design modeling a plus
Must have intermediate knowledge of production methods, process capabilities, tooling processes, and manufacturing processes
Must be capable of preparing well-written reports and orderly reports
Must have solid knowledge of manufacturing and related operations with detailed knowledge of such fields as product design, engineering function, tool design, tool fabrication, ergonomics and EHS, N/C machinery and equipment, factory methods work, etc...
Must have basic knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing
Strong knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and Operating Systems
Able to conduct fault isolation and troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electrical defects
