Summary You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (EMPLOYEE BENEFITS/OA) in the Civilian Benefits Center of OFFICE OF CIVILIAN HUMAN RESOURCES OPERATIONS. Responsibilities You will review employee's service to determine employee's correct retirement and benefit coverage. You will provide technical support of the Federal Employees Retirement System/Civil Service Retirement System, Federal Employees' Health Benefits, Federal Employees' Group Life Insurance, and the Thrift Savings Plan. You will research and apply laws, regulations and policies relating to personnel programs. You will retrieve data from various information sources, both manual and electronic, for use in identifying and resolving issues, answering questions, responding to correspondence, making decisions or preparing reports. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing customer service and maintaining personnel records related to benefits programs using an automated system to support employee benefits operations.. Education In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: Successful completion of at least four full academic years of education above high school OR A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education.
