Plant Accountant

Description We are looking for a Plant Accountant to support core accounting operations at our manufacturing site in Vineland, New Jersey. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing period-end activities, and ensuring balance sheet accounts are properly supported. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, a solid grasp of plant-related financial activity, and the ability to deliver reliable reporting in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Lead the monthly close process for plant accounting activities, ensuring deadlines are met and financial results are recorded accurately.

Prepare and post journal entries related to operational transactions, accruals, and other routine accounting adjustments.

Maintain the general ledger by reviewing account activity, resolving discrepancies, and supporting accurate financial data.

Perform account reconciliations on a regular basis and investigate outstanding items to ensure balances are complete and supportable.

Complete bank reconciliations and address variances promptly to maintain accurate cash records.

Support manufacturing cost accounting by analyzing production-related expenses, inventory movements, and cost allocations.

Assist with the preparation of financial reports for plant leadership and corporate stakeholders, highlighting key trends and variances.

Partner with operations and finance teams to strengthen accounting controls and improve the accuracy of plant financial information. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Proven experience in senior-level accounting responsibilities, preferably within a manufacturing environment.

Strong working knowledge of month-end close procedures, general ledger management, and journal entry preparation.

Hands-on experience with account reconciliations and bank reconciliation processes.

Understanding of manufacturing cost accounting principles and plant-level financial analysis.

Ability to prepare clear, accurate financial reports and interpret accounting results.

Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
