Job Description
The Manufacturing Associate supports production of precision rubber seals by performing detailed trimming, inspection, and molding tasks in a clean, safety-focused manufacturing environment. This role works with small parts, hand tools, and machinery to ensure high-quality components that meet strict standards, particularly for aerospace-related applications.
Responsibilities
Trim excess rubber from parts to meet precise quality and dimensional standards.
Inspect parts carefully for defects and irregularities, ensuring only conforming products move forward in the process.
Apply glue into grooves of parts using small brushes with steady hands and strong attention to detail.
Perform molding operations as directed, following established procedures and safety guidelines.
Handle and assemble small parts accurately and consistently throughout the shift.
Use basic hand tools and production equipment to support general manufacturing tasks.
Operate machinery safely and efficiently after receiving proper training.
Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and quality standards.
Follow written and verbal work instructions, production schedules, and standard operating procedures.
Collaborate with team members and communicate any quality or equipment issues to supervision promptly.
Essential Skills
At least 6 months of manufacturing experience is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work with small parts in a production environment.
Strong attention to detail and quality, especially when trimming and inspecting parts.
Ability to use basic hand tools safely and effectively.
Capability to operate production machinery after training.
Comfort standing and/or sitting for long periods of time during the shift.
Ability to follow instructions, maintain focus, and perform repetitive tasks accurately.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in general labor, general production, or manufacturing environments.
Familiarity with molding processes or machine presses.
Experience working in a machine shop, bonding, or warehouse area.
Comfort working in a structured, process-driven production setting.

Work Environment
This role is based in a large, open manufacturing facility focused on producing rubber seals, primarily for aerospace-related applications. The site includes a machine shop, molding areas, bonding areas with machine presses, and warehouse operations. The environment is described as very safe and clean, with organized workspaces and well-maintained equipment. The position is on first shift, with two and potentially three openings available; first shift runs from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The workforce includes approximately 67 people on first shift, 40 on second shift, and 5 on third shift, creating a team-based production setting. Employees may stand or sit for extended periods and will work around machinery, hand tools, and small parts in a structured, industrial environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
