Cameo Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) (DETO-2026-25748):
Bowhead seeks new team members in their support to the Navy High Energy Laser Weapon System (HEL-LWS) program by refining, updating, and managing a comprehensive Cameo Systems Modeler architecture.Join a mission-driven team at the forefront of shaping the future of directed energy warfare. Responsibilities
Job duties to include but are not limited to:
Cameo Model Development & Refinement
Update and refine the HEL-LWS Cameo model across top-level, subsystem, and component-level structures.
Develop and maintain Block Definition Diagrams (BDDs),Internal Block Diagrams (IBDs), Activity, Sequence, and State Machine Diagrams, System Requirements Tables.
Ensure model consistency, traceability, and alignment with HEL-LWS architecture and program documentation.
Requirements Management & Integration
Import and synchronize Jira-managed requirements into Cameo to maintain authoritative, configuration-controlled requirement elements.
Establish and maintain traceability between requirements, behaviors, interfaces, and structural model elements.
Support verification and validation alignment between Zephyr test procedures, execution logs, and Jira requirements.
System Safety Modernization
Utilize the Cameo 882 Plug-in to modernize HEL-LWS system safety artifacts.
Import and integrate Hazard Tracking System (HTS) data into Cameo.
Support hazard analysis, mitigation tracking, and safety-related requirements development.
Digital Engineering Ecosystem Support
Maintain cross-tool integration between Cameo, Jira, Zephyr, and Confluence to support government reporting, configuration management, and digital thread continuity.
Ensure seamless linkage between requirements, test artifacts, and model elements to support program reviews and technical baseline updates.
Systems Engineering Support
Contribute to the development of SE documentation including SRDs, SSRDs, ICDs, and interface definitions.
Support technical reviews, design updates, and engineering discussions with Navy stakeholders.
Provide MBSE expertise to improve modeling practices, digital engineering workflows, and system architecture clarity.

Qualifications
Bachelor of Science (BS) in System Engineering (SE), Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a closely related technical discipline.
3+ years of experience using Cameo Systems Modeler for MBSE, including architecture development, requirements modeling, interfaces, and behavior modeling.
3+ years of Systems Engineering experience supporting Naval weapons systems.
Preferred experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira, Zephyr, Confluence) for requirements, test case development, and reporting.
Preferred Experience with Navy System Safety processes and MIL-STD-882.
Preferred 3+ years of SE experience with High Energy Laser or Directed Energy Weapon systems.
Preferred Experience generating SE artifacts such as System Requirements Documents (SRDs), Subsystem Requirements Documents (SSRDs), and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.

Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
