THE POSITION
Join a team of passionate and hard working individuals at the Department of Human Services, Area Agency on Aging. We are looking for self starters who are able to adapt and work with minimal supervision. The Aging Case Aide 2 with the Allegheny County Area Agency on Aging plays a key role in supporting older adults. This position helps guide individuals to services that improve safety and quality of life. The work is meaningful and gives you the chance to make a strong impact in the community. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role focuses on helping older adults understand and access community programs that enhance safety, support, and protective services. You will apply knowledge of local resources and procedures to assist clients effectively. As an Aging Case Aide 2, you will perform the following duties:
Service Contacts:Contact program participants to check service status and relay information to care managers
Assessment Support:Complete in person assessments with participants as directed
Client Assistance:Coordinate help with provider agencies and other partners to secure needed resources
Program Explanation:Explain care management processes to callers and walk ins
Information Sharing:Provide relevant program information and request or distribute materials as needed
Documentation Tasks:Document all work in required data systems in a timely manner

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, hybrid work of up to two days per week after six months of employment. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Pittsburgh. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as an Aging Case Aide 1;or
Two years of public contact work, including one year in a human services program;or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Allegheny County. If no eligible candidates who live within Allegheny County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.

This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
