Job Title: Maintenance Technician Job Description
The Maintenance Technician performs a wide range of facility and equipment maintenance tasks to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations across the property and production areas. This role combines facilities upkeep, machine maintenance, and support for other departments, including participation in an on-call schedule and response to emergency situations.
Responsibilities
Perform general facility maintenance across the property and related structures to ensure a safe, clean, and well-functioning environment.
Conduct routine maintenance on buildings, grounds, and associated infrastructure.
Carry out snow removal using tractors, trucks, snowplows, and snow loaders to keep access areas clear and safe during winter conditions.
Coordinate with external contractors, provide recommendations as needed, and inspect contracted work to confirm adherence to blueprints, specifications, and quality standards.
Maintain lawns and landscaped areas, including applying pesticides and fertilizers and assisting with planting and general landscape care.
Erect, remove, repair, and maintain signage throughout the property to ensure clear and accurate visual communication.
Maintain and care for tools and equipment used in daily maintenance activities to ensure they remain in safe and reliable working condition.
Assist other departments as needed, supporting production and operations with maintenance-related tasks.
Participate in the on-call schedule and remain available to respond to emergency maintenance situations as required.
Perform preventive maintenance on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) units to support consistent climate control and equipment reliability.
Carry out facilities maintenance tasks for approximately 60% of the time, including building, grounds, and infrastructure work.
Perform machine maintenance for approximately 40% of the time, including preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on production equipment.
Complete preventive maintenance (PMs) and troubleshoot issues on equipment such as Hartland band saws, plasma cutters, lathes, drill presses, and brake presses.
Support maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment including automated welders, fiber lasers, pipe profilers, and paint booth systems.
Essential Skills
Proven experience as a maintenance technician with both facilities maintenance and machine maintenance responsibilities (previously 2 years of experience referenced).
Hands-on skills in general facilities maintenance, including building, grounds, and infrastructure upkeep.
Ability to perform routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC units.
Experience with snow removal operations using tractors, trucks, snowplows, and snow loaders.
Capability to coordinate with contractors, interpret blueprints and specifications, and verify that contracted work meets required standards.
Practical knowledge of lawn care, including application of pesticides and fertilizers and assistance with landscaping and planting.
Experience with signage installation, repair, and maintenance throughout a property.
Strong troubleshooting skills for production machinery and equipment, including PMs and corrective maintenance.
Experience working with Hartland band saws, plasma cutters, lathes, drill presses, and brake presses.
Familiarity with automated welders, fiber lasers, pipe profilers, and paint booth equipment.
Ability to work extended hours of approximately 45-50 hours per week, including occasional Saturday work.
Willingness to participate in an on-call schedule and respond to emergency situations.

Work Environment
This position is based in a large, climate-controlled warehouse facility that provides a quiet and comfortable work setting. You will work on a first shift schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., typically totaling 45-50 hours per week, with occasional Saturday hours as needed. Overtime is available almost every weekend but remains optional. The environment is strongly team-oriented, with employees working together to support production and maintenance needs. You will work around a variety of industrial and fabrication equipment, including band saws, plasma cutters, lathes, drill presses, brake presses, automated welders, fiber lasers, pipe profilers, and paint booth systems, as well as standard tools used for facilities and grounds maintenance.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
