This position serves our partners at the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED). The MNIT DEED team provides technical support to help improve employment conditions in Minnesota. The team supports work that improves workforce and community development, increases business recruitment, and helps Minnesota small businesses to expand into international trade.
As a Microsoft 365 Low Code Solutions Specialist with MNIT and DEED, you will design and deliver user-focused digital solutions that help Minnesotans access the employment and economic opportunities that improve lives. In this role, you will build and support SharePoint Online, Power Automate, and Power Apps solutions that streamline agency workflows, enhance collaboration, and modernize how DEED serves its mission of workforce and community development.
You will work closely with business users, subject matter experts, and technical partners to transform complex needs into intuitive, accessible, and well-governed Microsoft 365 experiences. As the "Tech Owner" for the M365 environment within your supported agencies, you will lead solution design, guide users on best practices, and strengthen adoption of modern tools across DEED and its partner organizations.

This position is telework eligible for applicants who reside in Minnesota or in a bordering state, with supervisory approval and satisfactory performance. Minimum Qualifications

Position requires a minimum of three (3) years of IT-related experience designing, developing, and supporting Microsoft 365 low-code solutions.
Experience must include:
SharePoint Online, which should include content management, permission management, list and library metadata, and best practices.
Creating and maintaining Power Automate flows to support business processes.
Microsoft Forms, and customized SharePoint list forms.
Troubleshooting Microsoft 365 services (SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Power Platform, etc), including diagnosing workflow failures and configuration issues.
Creating documentation such as functional designs, testing notes, user guides, and solution support materials.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a manner that facilitates mutual understanding.
Customer-focused approach grounded in active listening, empathy, and solution-oriented problem-solving to deliver positive user experiences.
Education in Information Technology (IT) or an IT related field may substitute for experience as follows: a master's degree for eighteen (18) months of experience; a bachelor's degree for one (1) year; and an associate's degree for six (6) months.
Strongly Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to independently translate complex business requirements into intuitive, accessible low-code Microsoft 365 solutions aligned with governance and security standards.
Experience leading or mentoring others in solution design, troubleshooting, or adoption of Microsoft 365 tools, demonstrating strong communication and collaboration skills..
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing and supporting SharePoint Online site structures, lists/libraries, metadata, and content lifecycle best practices.
Skill in developing Power Automate workflows for business processes, including troubleshooting and optimizing flow performance.
Experience creating or customizing Power Apps or SharePoint list forms to improve user experience and data accuracy.
Strong documentation skills, including writing functional designs, test plans, user guides, and support materials.
Experience providing end-user training, technical guidance, or consultative support on Microsoft 365 tools (SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Power Platform).
