The Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy consists of two schools, the School of Public Policy and Management and the School of Information Systems and Management and offers an academic experience unlike any other. Heinz College prepares students with a unique ability to conduct careful and objective analysis of relevant data, to understand and demonstrate the power of information technology, and to lead and implement change in managerial and policy @contexts.
This leads us to search for a positive, highly motivated, and culturally responsive Academic Advisor to join our team. Reporting to the Associate Director of Advising, you will be responsible for providing administrative management, academic advising, counseling, and support to students enrolled at Heinz College. Core responsibilities include:
Support Heinz College graduate students in navigating the curriculum, building alignment with career goals, and enhancing their academic experience.
Review students' progress to ensure they are successfully completing academic requirements.
Coach students in academic recovery to promote student success.
Partner with the Student Experience and Engagement (SEE), Career Services and Program Office to holistically support the student experience.

Have a genuine interest in understanding the courses taught at Heinz College and other colleges on campus that may be of interest to Heinz students.
An understanding of skills and knowledge needed in common careers for Heinz graduates to inform academic advising is strongly preferred.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
At least three (3) years of experience in higher education administration, academic advising, and academic counseling.
Outstanding computer and database management skills, including comprehensive knowledge of database systems as well as advanced 9. proficiency with Google Workspace and other computer-related programs.
A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
