This is an opportunity to join a high-impact marketing team focused on advancing key business priorities across North America Insurance.
We are seeking a senior strategic marketing professional to lead retail marketing across North America Insurance. The role will serve as a senior advisor to the business leadership across the retail organization, and oversee a broad portfolio spanning Property, Casualty, Financial Lines, M&A, and other core retail business lines.
The Director will partner closely with business stakeholders across the retail organization to develop and execute integrated marketing strategies that strengthen broker and client engagement, elevate market visibility, and support business growth priorities.
This role requires a highly collaborative marketing professional who can operate strategically while driving execution across campaigns, thought leadership, events, communications and engagement initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong commercial acumen, leadership experience, and the ability to navigate a fast-paced environment.
The role will work closely with product, distribution, communications, events, and business teams across North America and will bring structure, prioritization, and strategic alignment to marketing efforts across the retail business.
The role reports to the Chief Marketing & Communications Officer, North America Insurance.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner closely with retail business leadership and key stakeholders to support growth objectives through strategic marketing programs.
Build integrated marketing plans that strengthen broker and client relationships, while elevating market visibility across the retail business.
Develop and own the positioning and messaging for AIG's commercial capabilities, translating complex products into a clear, differentiated narrative for broker and client audiences.
Partner with product and distribution teams to ensure coordinated, consistent messaging and programming across retail and wholesale broker channels.
Collaborate with the communications and media relations teams to strengthen executive visibility and thought leadership for retail leadership.
Partner with the broader marketing team to ensure retail marketing programs are integrated into enterprise campaigns and the overall AIG brand strategy
Establish structure and forward planning across the retail marketing function
Manage and develop a high-performing marketing team, providing clear direction, development opportunities, and a strong culture of accountability and excellence.
Partner with the Canadian marketing team to support alignment across North America marketing initiatives
Operate at pace with a strong focus on executional excellence and continuous improvement across all programs
Remain current on emerging AI trends, tools, and best practices relevant to marketing and communications
Job Requirements:
12+ years in B2B marketing, insurance, financial services, professional services, or related industries
Experience working closely with senior business stakeholders in a matrixed organization
Proven experience developing and managing high-performance teams
Strong background in integrated marketing strategy, campaigns, broker engagement, events, and communications
Proven product marketing experience, including go-to-market planning, product positioning, launch execution
Strong commercial mindset with the ability to connect marketing initiatives to business priorities and growth objectives
Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution across multiple marketing initiatives and priorities
Education:
Bachelor's degree required (Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing or related field). Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is a plus
For positions based in NJ, the base salary range is $180,000 - $195,000. For positions based in Illinois, the base salary range is $175,000 - $190,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
