Job Description
This Warehouse Associate role supports daily warehouse operations by handling inventory, preparing shipments, maintaining a clean and safe workspace, and ensuring the efficient movement of goods. The position plays a key part in keeping the supply chain running smoothly and requires strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Receive, unload, and process incoming stock, verifying accuracy against purchase orders and related documentation.
Inspect incoming materials for accuracy, damage, and quality, and report discrepancies to the appropriate contact.
Accurately pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment using RF scanners or pick lists.
Label, package, and stage orders in the correct locations to ensure timely and accurate shipment.
Organize and store materials in designated locations, maintaining clear labeling and orderly storage areas.
Rotate stock according to established procedures to support inventory accuracy and product freshness where applicable.
Support shipping activities by preparing outgoing shipments, printing labels, palletizing goods, and coordinating with carriers as directed.
Use pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other warehouse tools safely and efficiently to move materials throughout the facility.
Assist with inventory control by counting, tracking, and recording inventory levels using RF scanners or other inventory systems.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by following housekeeping standards and promptly addressing hazards.
Follow all safety guidelines and operational procedures when operating equipment and handling materials.
Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals and support large-volume orders.
Adapt to changing priorities, including overtime and occasional Saturday work, to support business needs.
Essential Skills
Experience working in a warehouse environment with a focus on inventory handling and order fulfillment.
Proficiency in order picking, packing, and general material handling tasks.
Hands-on experience with shipping and receiving processes, including preparing and verifying shipments.
Ability to use RF scanners for picking, packing, and inventory control activities.
Demonstrated skill operating pallet jacks, hand trucks, and similar warehouse equipment safely.
Forklift experience, including sit-down and stand-up forklifts, with the ability to operate safely and efficiently.
Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate order picking, labeling, and inventory management.
Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift, and move materials throughout the shift in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to standard operating procedures.
Reliability and punctuality to support consistent warehouse operations on a first-shift schedule.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in warehouse inventory control is beneficial.
Background in packaging and general labor within a distribution or logistics setting is an advantage.
Experience working in large distribution centers or high-volume shipping environments is preferred.
Comfort using basic warehouse technology and tools, including RF scanners and label printers.
Willingness to work overtime as needed, including occasional Saturdays.

Work Environment
This role is based in a large distribution center in McHenry, IL, focused on managing and shipping existing inventory. The position follows a first-shift schedule of 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with overtime that may extend the day until 5:00 PM and occasional Saturday work depending on workload. The facility uses common warehouse technologies and equipment, including RF scanners, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and both sit-down and stand-up forklifts. The work involves frequent standing, walking, lifting, and moving materials in a fast-paced environment where safety and organization are priorities. Steel-toe footwear is required, and shorts are acceptable attire, providing a practical and comfortable dress code suited to hands-on warehouse work.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
