About the Opportunity
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Import Customer Service Representative to join a growing logistics and import operations team. This position is ideal for candidates with experience in customer service, administrative support, logistics, transportation, import/export operations, or supply chain environments. In this role, you will support the import process from start to finish by coordinating documentation, communicating with customers, tracking shipments, and ensuring compliance with import regulations. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced office setting.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Account Support
Serve as a primary point of contact for customers regarding import shipments and documentation.
Maintain accurate customer records and account information.
Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates and ensure excellent service.
Build and maintain positive customer relationships.
Import Documentation & Compliance
Review and validate import-related documentation.
Process and enter information associated with Importer Security Filings (ISF) and customs entries.
Prepare commercial documents necessary for import clearance.
Audit invoices, certificates of origin, entry summaries, and supporting customs documentation.
Ensure documentation accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.
Shipment Tracking & Coordination
Monitor shipment status and provide updates to customers.
Coordinate cargo tracking activities with ocean carriers, airlines, and transportation providers.
Assist with resolving shipment issues and delays.
Maintain accurate shipment records and status updates.
Administrative Support
Enter and maintain data within company systems.
Support invoicing activities by providing rate and cost information to the accounting department.
Assist with reporting, recordkeeping, and special projects as assigned.
Organize and maintain files, documentation, and operational records.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
At least 1 year of professional experience in customer service, administrative support, logistics, transportation, or a related field.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Comfortable working with computer systems and data entry.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong customer service mindset and relationship-building skills.
