Description
The Buyer II is tasked with managing the procurement process to ensure the availability of high-quality materials, supplies, and services when needed. This role involves negotiating supplier terms, pricing, and delivery schedules using tools that assess inventory demands, quality standards, and scheduling needs. The Buyer II supports strategic initiatives to meet business goals and customer quality and demand requirements by developing the supplier base and mitigating supply chain risks. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Fulfill procurement needs for new customer parts, projects, and Aerospace and Defense purchases, including: o Participating in contract reviews o Analyzing suppliers o Reviewing bills of material o Obtaining supplier quotations o Preparing and maintaining purchase orders from placement to reconciliation, ensuring quality and timely delivery o Work independently or with a Sourcing Specialist to strategically identify reliable sources for new materials, products, and processes o Support supplier development and assist in resolving supplier quality issues and performance improvements, which may involve: o Corrective action support o Non-conformance support o Supplier visits o Build and strengthen relationships with key suppliers. o Assist Sales in identifying potential long-term buying strategies for components. o Review and maintain supplier approval status and verify certification and documentation to meet AS9100 standards. o Analyze material reports to maintain inventory levels, including: o PO Action Report o Material Requirements Planning o Address material delays affecting the production schedule, including: o Exception reports o Reject tickets o Expedite requests o Identify and pursue cost reduction opportunities for purchased components. o Process supplier non-conformances and corrective action requests. o Process purchase orders for customer-supplied materials as needed. o Lead or support special procurement-related projects. o Read and understand customer and company assembly prints with training. o Collaborate with various departments, including Sales, Engineering, Quality, Operations, Facilities, and Finance. o Participate in and contribute to department L-10 meetings. o Assist in developing departmental policies and procedures. o Ensure compliance with all Quality System Requirements. o Adhere to company values and policies in all work areas. o Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: - Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build relationships are essential. - Strong negotiation skills. - Ability to maintain effectiveness and efficiency in a fast-paced, changing work environment. - Ability to multitask with high attention to detail. - Proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels. - Excellent organizational and decision-making skills and self-motivation are needed. - Ability to read and interpret drawings and prints is preferred. - APICS certification is preferred.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
