Job Title: Machine Repair Technician
Job Description
This role focuses on troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing metal forming equipment, presses, and other heavy machinery. The technician applies strong mechanical and electrical aptitude to maintain and restore machine tool components and systems, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation. The position requires the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team while interpreting technical documentation and using precision measuring tools.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair metal forming equipment, presses, and heavy machinery to minimize downtime and maintain optimal performance.
Inspect, maintain, and repair machine tool components and systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication systems, bearings, ball screws, and gearboxes.
Perform diagnostic testing on machinery and equipment to identify root causes of mechanical and electrical issues.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide repair and maintenance activities.
Use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers and indicators to verify tolerances and ensure accurate repairs.
Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on industrial machinery to reduce unexpected failures.
Apply electrical and mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and repair industrial machinery and related systems.
Work independently or as part of a team to complete repairs, installations, and maintenance tasks safely and efficiently.
Follow established safety procedures and guidelines while working around heavy machinery, dust, odors, oil, and noise.
Operate a forklift and move throughout the facility to access equipment and perform maintenance duties.
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
Essential Skills
Proven ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair metal forming equipment, presses, and heavy machinery.
Knowledge of machine tool components and systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication systems, bearings, ball screws, and gearboxes.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Proficiency in using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers and indicators.
Electrical and mechanical aptitude for working on industrial machinery.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial machinery in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Capability to work independently as well as effectively within a team.
Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs., walk up stairs, sit, stand, and move about the facility.
Strong manual dexterity and continuous mental and visual attention to detail.
Comfort working in environments with dust, odors, oil, and noise.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with hydraulics maintenance and diagnostic testing on industrial equipment.
Experience in machine building or machine repair in a manufacturing setting.
Familiarity with electrical systems related to industrial machinery.
Ability to operate a forklift safely within a facility.
Ownership of a personal toolbox and/or tools, which is helpful for performing daily tasks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleveland, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
