Help Ensure Employees Are Paid Accurately While Supporting Quality Healthcare Services

A respected healthcare organization in Carlsbad is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join its growing finance and payroll team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to play a critical role in supporting employees across multiple departments while ensuring payroll is processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with all applicable regulations. The ideal candidate enjoys working with numbers, has a strong customer service mindset, and takes pride in maintaining accuracy. What You'll Be Doing

Process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll for healthcare employees

Review timesheets and resolve payroll discrepancies

Maintain payroll records and employee data

Process garnishments, deductions, and benefit elections

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations

Assist with payroll audits and reporting

Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a professional manner

Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation

Collaborate with HR regarding employee status changes

Assist with process improvements and payroll system updates

Requirements

2+ years of payroll experience

Healthcare industry experience preferred

Familiarity with payroll software and HRIS systems

Strong Excel and data entry skills

Knowledge of California wage and hour regulations

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
