Summary You will serve as a FINANCIAL TECHNICIAN in the CORRECTION AND PROGRAMS OFFICE of NAVCONBRIG MIRAMAR DET PEARL HARBOR. Responsibilities You will perform technical in support of receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit and custody of cash items. You will provide financial management accounting for deposits, withdraws, reconciliation, and security of commingled military correctional facility (MFC) prisoner personal fund accounts. You will perform as liaison officer for the brig when dealing with Personnel Support Detachment on matters involving the prisoner's pay when problems or errors arise. You will create and maintain accurate records detailing all transactions involving prisoner funds and valuables. You will identify discrepancies in the accounting systems and research, recommend, and perform the proper corrections for noted discrepancies. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Understanding accounting systems, policies, and procedures to examine, verify and maintain and reconcile accounts and accounting data, prepare and analyze reports; 2) Having knowledge of financial procedures and regulations required to examine invoices, vouchers, and related documents is required; 3) Understanding accounting, budget, or other financial management methods, practices, procedures, and techniques related to specific financial management functions to examine, verify and maintain and reconcile accounts and accounting data, prepare and analyze reports; AND 4) Performing technician work in support of budget analysis and administration such as maintain ledgers, budget information, compiling, consolidating, checking and arranging funding data.
