We provide rehabilitation services across the continuum - acute care hospitals, long term care facilities, sub-acute rehabilitation, homecare, outpatient centers, and in community settings such as senior centers, work sites, and schools and colleges. We offer over 40 outpatient locations offering physical, occupational, and speech therapy, in specialties including orthopedics, neuroscience, oncology, women's health, sports medicine, vestibular, and more. We are known for our commitment to high quality, customer focused outcomes. Overview: We are currently seeking a per diem Exercise Physiologist for our Westport Outpatient Rehab Clinic. Our Outpatient Rehab Clinic in Westport, CT is our flagship location within Fairfield County. It is connected to the Ayer Neuroscience Spine Wellness center and is part of a multidisciplinary team of medical, rehabilitation, and wellness professionals dedicated to improving the health of all patients. This therapist will collaborate with professionals throughout the facility who provide rehabilitation, pain management, physical medicine, integrative medicine, fitness, nutrition, and behavioral health services to improve surgical and non-surgical outcomes. All of our clinics have ample private treatment spaces and state-of-the-art gyms to support our patient's recovery. Specialty Programs in this clinic include Balance & Falls (Safe Steps), Cancer Rehabilitation, Complex Spine, Concussion, Dry Needling, Gender-Affirming Rehab, Headache Management, Chronic Pain Management, Pelvic Health, Sports Medicine, Thoracic Outlet and Vestibular Therapy. The Exercise Physiologist implements and supervises physical exercise programs for patients. Responsibilities: · Provides patient testing and assessment before and after rehabilitation. · Plans and teaches exercise therapy for patients utilizing test data, patient status and current medication regimen. Monitors patient's response and revises plan accordingly. · Recognizes contraindications and abnormal patient responses to exercise. Responds appropriately to all situations including exercise cessation and referral to medical professionals. · Provides exercise information for patients, peers and the community which may include public speaking and education classes. · Collaborates with physician regarding the exercise prescription for each patient. Maintains in-depth knowledge of monitoring and arrhythmia identification. · Preparation of report on individual patient to appropriate physician. Appropriately charts progress in Medical Records. Maintains appropriate documentation of patient care. · Develops and maintains in-depth knowledge of the departmental equipment. Maintains equipment in optimal functioning condition in accordance with manufactures guidelines. provide staff with educational in-service for proper and safe use of equipment. - B.S. in Exercise Physiology / Science or related degree M.S. preferred - Basic monitor interpretation skills and must successfully pass dysrhythmia class within 3 months of hire. - ACSM Clinical Certification Preferred.
