Job Title: Traveling General Laborer
Job Description
This traveling general laborer role supports the preparation and finishing of concrete floors with industrial coatings across various job sites in Southern Minnesota. You will assist with surface preparation, mixing and applying epoxy and urethane coatings, and operating basic tools and equipment while working as part of a team to deliver high-quality results safely and on time.
Responsibilities
Assist in preparing concrete floors by cleaning, grinding, and repairing surfaces to ensure proper adhesion of coatings.
Mix epoxy, urethane, and other industrial coatings according to specified ratios and manufacturer guidelines.
Apply coatings using appropriate tools such as rollers, squeegees, and other application equipment to achieve an even finish.
Operate basic tools and equipment, including grinders, mixers, and rollers, in a safe and efficient manner.
Monitor coated surfaces during curing and ensure proper finishing, including touch-ups and corrections as needed.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with OSHA safety standards and company procedures.
Follow instructions from supervisors and collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality expectations.
Travel to various job sites in Southern Minnesota and adapt to different work conditions and project requirements.
Handle materials and equipment safely, including lifting and moving items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Report any safety concerns, equipment issues, or quality problems promptly to the appropriate team member.
Essential Skills
Ability to assist with construction-related tasks, including surface preparation and basic finishing work.
Basic familiarity with industrial coatings such as epoxy, polyurethane, and other coating materials, or willingness to learn.
Ability to operate basic tools and equipment such as grinders, mixers, and rollers after training.
Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods.
Willingness to work in various environments, including active construction sites.
Reliable transportation and ability to travel to job sites throughout Southern Minnesota.
Commitment to following OSHA safety standards and maintaining a safe work environment.
Strong teamwork skills and ability to follow directions accurately.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided for all major tasks and equipment.
Interest in construction, coatings, or industrial flooring work.
Willingness to work occasional weekends to support project timelines.
Dependable work ethic and consistent attendance.
Attention to detail when mixing and applying coatings to meet quality standards.

Work Environment
This position is field-based and involves regular travel to job sites across Southern Minnesota. The role requires operating tools such as grinders, mixers, and rollers in environments that may be dusty, noisy, or subject to varying temperatures. Work hours can include weekdays and occasional weekends, especially when project schedules require it. Appropriate work attire and personal protective equipment are required to maintain safety and compliance with OSHA standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waseca, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $34.00/hr.
