Staff Accountant/Tax Preparer

Wheatland-

Salary DOE: $60,000. Will discuss with applicant.

Weaver & McGuire is looking for a full-time accountant/ tax preparer.

What You'll Do:

Prepare federal and state income tax returns with minimal errors.

Prepare federal and state quarterly tax estimates.

Prepare year-end journal entries.

Conduct tax research and interpret tax guidance to provide recommendations.

Meet with clients.

Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information at all times.

What We're Looking For:

Required Education, Experience and/or Abilities

A bachelor's degree or higher in accounting; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

Knowledge of accounting and tax law.

Ability to prepare tax returns, including complex returns or willingness to learn.

Ability to make independent decisions regarding work projects and tax issues; possesses leadership skills.

Strong analytical and organizational skills.

Effective time management skills to meet all deadlines.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and maintain strong working relationships. Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.

Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing.

Computer Skills**

Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Ability to use professional tax software.

Ability to perform accurate data entry.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

English language fluency, verbal and written
