Summary You will serve as a FIRE PROTECTION SPECIALIST of NAS JRB NEW ORLEANS. Responsibilities You will administer training, orientation, indoctrination, and education programs for fire safety and awareness.. You will evaluate firefighter training (e.g., practical evolutions, live fire training) for improvement. You will present fire protection and prevention education or training to employees. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: : 1)Administering a training program for fire protection and prevention to include structural firefighting, aircraft crash and rescue response, fire prevention, and emergency medical services 2) Developing and submitting a training budget for fire and emergency services 3) Creating and Conducting training courses on fire safety practices and procedures 4) Evaluating performance during training exercises and routine duties to recommend changes to exercise or additional training. This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Firefighter II; Airport (ARFF) Firefighter; HazMat Operations; HazMat Technician; HazMat IC; EMT (NREMT) or Paramedic (1 yr to complete); Fire Officer III; Fire Inspector II; Fire Instructor III; Fire Inspector. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement.
