Job Title: Medical Assembly
Job Description
This role involves operating and tending specialized molding and assembly equipment to produce high-quality parts and products for the medical device industry. The Molding Operator performs machine operation, basic trimming, assembly, packaging, labeling, and product movement while following cleanroom and quality standards. The position requires comfort with highly repetitive tasks and the use of microscopes to ensure precise and accurate work.
Responsibilities
Operate and tend molding and related production machines to create parts and products for the medical device industry.
Move between injection molding and assembly areas as production needs require.
Perform injection mold operations, including closing machine doors, starting cycles, unloading parts, and performing basic trimming of molded components.
Assemble basic plastic medical components accurately and consistently according to work orders and instructions.
Package and label finished products in accordance with quality and regulatory requirements.
Conduct routine quality checks on parts and assemblies, including visual inspection and microscope-based inspection when required.
Read, interpret, and follow work orders, production instructions, and standard operating procedures.
Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with cleanroom standards and company policies.
Move and stage product and materials between workstations and areas as needed to support workflow.
Monitor machines for proper operation and report issues or irregularities to the appropriate personnel.
Perform basic troubleshooting and adjustments within defined procedures to maintain consistent production.
Work effectively in a repetitive production environment while maintaining focus, accuracy, and quality.
Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors regarding production status, issues, and improvements.
Follow all safety, quality, and cleanroom protocols to support a safe and compliant medical manufacturing environment.
Essential Skills
Experience in manufacturing or production environments, with some prior manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
Ability to operate production and molding machines safely and consistently.
Capability to work in a highly repetitive production setting while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Experience using microscopes for inspection or production tasks.
Ability to read and understand work orders and follow written and verbal instructions.
Basic troubleshooting skills to identify and communicate machine or process issues.
Strong communication skills to work effectively with team members and supervisors.
Reliable attendance and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Comfort working in a cleanroom or controlled medical manufacturing environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous injection molding experience is not required but is considered a plus.
Experience in medical device manufacturing or similar regulated environments is beneficial.
Familiarity with cleanroom classifications such as Class 7 and Class 8 is an advantage.
Ability to perform general labor tasks such as material handling and basic equipment upkeep.

Work Environment
The role is based in a very clean medical manufacturing environment, with assembly areas and some presses located in Class 7 and Class 8 cleanrooms. Work takes place in a new, state-of-the-art facility that includes a comfortable break room and modern amenities. Employees work around molding machines, assembly equipment, and microscopes while following strict cleanliness and quality standards appropriate for medical device production. The environment emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and adherence to procedures to ensure safe and consistent operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
