Our client, a massive global life sciences, biotechnology, and laboratory supply company, is seeking a dedicated Senior Accountant to join their team. As a Senior Accountant, you will be an integral part of the Finance Department supporting cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate analytical thinking, collaboration, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Hillsboro, OR 97124 (Onsite)

Pay Range: $42-47/hr. on W2

Job Type: 3-4-month contract with the potential for hire or extension

Schedule: M-F 40 hrs./wk.

What's the Job?

Meticulously analyze production costs, including direct materials, labor, and overheads, to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Monitor inventory levels, track usage, and reconcile discrepancies to ensure accurate valuation and minimize waste or shortages.

Participate in month-end close activities, preparing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and assisting in financial reporting.

Prepare and present comprehensive reports on manufacturing costs, providing insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making by senior management.

Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements, responding promptly to audit requests with accurate documentation.

What's Needed?

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Previous experience of 5+ years in cost accounting or a similar role in the manufacturing/production industry.

Advanced knowledge of financial and cost accounting principles and best practices.

Proficiency in ERP systems such as QAD or Oracle Hyperion.

Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and presentation.
