This student will assist Minnesota Grown Program staff with the following responsibilities:
Creating content for promotional activities including newsletter, social media and public relations.
Updating and maintaining the Minnesota Grown website.
Coordinating the program's display at the Minnesota State Fair and representing the program at various producer association meetings, consumer-facing events and trade shows.
Supporting data collection and reporting on performance of promotional activities.
This position is located in St. Paul and may have the ability to telework from home part of the time.
Minimum Qualifications

Completion of at least one year of post-secondary education with a major in communications, agriculture, food science, economics, marketing, environmental studies, business management or a related field.
Ability to communicate, influence and persuade a diverse audience both orally and in writing.
Strong interpersonal, customer service, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency working with personal computers and software related to databases, spreadsheets, presentation and word processing is essential. Internet and web search skills are essential.
Must be available for reasonable travel, including some evening, weekend, and overnights.
Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record subject to review.

Student Worker eligibility status:
To be eligible for appointment as a Student Worker you must be a student enrolled in an educational program or planning to enroll within three months. Students may be "off" for the summer or for one semester/quarter and remain employed as student workers, but such absences cannot exceed one semester/quarter in a year. As a student you must be enrolled in high school or in a post-secondary or graduate program. If a student is enrolled at a credit-granting institution he/she must carry at least six semester (nine quarter) credits. If enrolled at a non-credit granting institution or one that only offers one credit per class, a student must be taking two or more classes per semester/quarter. Any lesser credit (class) load shall be treated as a semester/quarter off. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least two courses or making progress on a dissertation. You will be asked to complete an Educational Verification form prior to appointment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience or coursework in marketing and communications or graphic design.
Experience using social media as a professional tool for businesses or organizations.
Experience with website development and evaluation (Wordpress, Google Analytics).
Experience or coursework related to surveys, statistics, and/or market research.
A strong working knowledge of food and agricultural issues, trends, and technologies through coursework, past work experience, or from having an agriculture background.
Physical Requirements
Must have the ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
