Job Title: Industrial Electrician
Job Description
This role focuses on performing skilled electrical and instrumentation installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work on specialized industrial equipment and electrical systems. You will ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operation of electrical infrastructure in a production environment by following established trade methods, procedures, and applicable codes.
Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical equipment and fixtures in a production environment.
Install and support various @types of raceway and cable tray systems, including conduit bending and routing.
Troubleshoot motors and control systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective repairs.
Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical wiring, panels, and systems to minimize downtime.
Assess and design electrical circuitry, including determining appropriate wire sizes, components, and connections distributed from panels.
Plan and determine electrical material requirements and prepare material quotes as needed.
Install local disconnects and related components for systems up to 480 VAC three-phase.
Install, troubleshoot, and repair basic three-phase motors and control circuits.
Work from lifts and other access equipment to install and service overhead or elevated electrical systems.
Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to complete installations and repairs accurately.
Install and maintain various @types of sensors and limit switches used in industrial automation.
Support installation and setup of variable frequency drives (VFDs) and assist with PLC troubleshooting when required.
Work with automated industrial machinery, including motors, pumps, drives, relays, communication devices, industrial/electronic controls, and power transmission systems.
Adhere to all applicable electrical codes, quality standards, and safety procedures during all work activities.
Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to minimize disruptions and ensure reliable operation of equipment.
Essential Skills
Licensed Industrial Electrician with a Texas Electrician License, Texas Journeyman License, or Texas Master Electrician License.
3-5 years of electrical experience in an industrial, cosmetics, or food manufacturing environment.
Industrial electrical construction experience, including conduit bending and raceway installation.
Experience as a Maintenance Electrician or Industrial/Commercial Electrician.
Ability to determine electrical material needs and prepare accurate material quotes.
Working knowledge of electrical codes, particularly for interior industrial installations.
Ability to assess and design electrical circuitry, including wire sizing, component selection, and connections from panels.
Experience with installation of local disconnects up to 480 VAC three-phase.
Ability to work safely and effectively from lifts and elevated platforms as needed.
Operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery, including motors, pumps, drives, relays, three-phase power, communication devices, industrial/electronic controls, and power transmission systems.
Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
Capability to install and troubleshoot basic three-phase motors and control circuits.
Knowledge of various @types of sensors and limit switches used in industrial applications.
Proficiency with PLC troubleshooting or strong aptitude and experience working with automated control systems.
Ability to work Monday through Friday on a day shift with occasional Saturday overtime.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Familiarity with industrial equipment and production environments such as cosmetics or food manufacturing facilities.
Preferred experience in installation and setup of variable frequency drives (VFDs).
Preferred experience with PLC troubleshooting and practical problem-solving in both mechanical and electrical systems.
Strong practical mechanical and electrical aptitude for hands-on troubleshooting and repairs.
Ability to interpret and apply safety and quality requirements to all electrical work.

Work Environment

The position follows a Monday-Friday day shift schedule, with occasional overtime on Saturdays during operating hours. You will work around automated industrial machinery, including motors, pumps, drives, relays, communication devices, industrial/electronic controls, and power transmission systems. The work involves both floor-level and elevated tasks, including use of lifts and other access equipment to reach overhead installations. Safety procedures and adherence to electrical codes are central to daily operations, and you will routinely work with three-phase power systems up to 480 VAC, raceways, cable trays, sensors, limit switches, and control panels. Dress expectations align with a typical industrial setting, emphasizing safety gear and appropriate attire for working around energized equipment and production lines.
