Our Calibration Department is currently seeking a passionate, enthusiastic General Manager to be based at the Lee's Summit, MO location. The Calibration Department specializes in precision calibration measuring equipment of various @types.
Summary:
Reporting to the Regional Calibration Director, West, the role of the General Manager is to actively drive business growth and profitability of the Lee's Summit, MO location. As a member of a collaborative operations leadership team, the GM will work closely with regional leadership to develop forecasts, budgets, and growth plans. The GM will be a visible leader internally and externally and must possess the ability to influence and lead dynamic cross-functional teams, and the ability to cultivate a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the full P&L of the market, the GM will develop annual plans, manage financial performance throughout the year, and oversee expenses
Provide leadership and the development of department staff through setting goals and objectives; identifying and arranging appropriate training and career development opportunities for employees at all levels; encouraging teamwork and sharing of best practices; fostering an environment of innovation and technical excellence; and planning the succession of employees with the skills to meet future company and customer needs.
Connect and communicate with team members regularly to foster a positive environment and an engaged workforce
Partner with the corporate revenue generation team to plan and implement business development and sales strategies to scale business
Develop & implement annual plan(s) focused on increasing business, assessing staffing needs and spatial constraints.
Work closely with team members to effectively manage operational overhead
Perform calibrations out of the Temecula location
Work with Quality team to ensure adherence to 17025 standards
Take corrective action on nonconforming customer issues assuring implementation of sustainable solutions
Partner with corporate support functions including Finance and Accounting, HR, IT, Safety and Legal.
Lead safety and ensure compliance with all laws, policies, regulations, and easement terms governing work on and off site and help our customers achieve success.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, company, and industry; maintain the professional competence, knowledge and skills necessary to effectively complete responsibilities.
Qualifications
Required Experience and Skills:
The successful candidate should be excited by opportunities to add value to our clients with Calibration experience. Strong communication skills, collaboration and courage to challenge the status quo will be critical to success in this role.
Eight years of experience in Calibration including three years management responsibilities
3+ years of P&L responsibility; multi-site experience preferred
Ability to perform electrical, dimensional, temperature, pressure, and mechanical calibrations
Experience in a growth-oriented business is strongly preferred
Strong experience in managing and unifying operational processes and leading a culture of continuous improvement
Exceptional customer interaction skills with the ability to build strong relationships, driving satisfaction, and facilitating growth
Strong leader with integrity, dependability, and a strong work ethic.
Must be results-oriented, proactive, and confident with the ability to balance multiple deliverables and drive financial success
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to develop high-performing teams
P roject a sincere desire and ability to work within a cross-functional, matrix team environment, both locally and at a corporate level
Industrial Technology Associates, Bachelors in an Engineering field, or similar degree preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements: Associates must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time without assistance.
Maneuvering to and around equipment
Bending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching
Climbing stepstools or ladders
Lifting and moving equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
Transporting to various locations within customer site
Work Environment:
Work is performed primarily in an office environment with limited privacy and exposure to noise from others conducting business. The remainder of work is performed on job sites in the field, driving to and from the worksite. Associates may be exposed to hazardous equipment, toxic substances, noise from equipment, and depending on external weather conditions, wind, rain, cold, and heat. Associates may be required to work in excess of 8 hours in a day and/or 40 hours per week.
