Job Category:Faculty Employment Type:Regular Job Profile:Assistant Professor Job Duties: The Department of Medicine at The University of Wisconsin and the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center (UWCCC) is recruiting an exceptional physician scientist, MD or MD/PhD, in medical oncology research, to join our faculty in the Division of Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care. Research focus will be on mechanisms underlying the development and treatment of breast cancers and includes bench and translational studies, genomics, precision medicine and therapeutics. The physician scientist will be expected to engage in active collaborative research and expand clinical and/or translational research in the division and obtain/maintain independent extramural funding. We are ideally seeking an experienced breast cancer researcher with an interest in leading our team of investigators in multi-investigator research projects. The University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center Breast Cancer research team is actively engagedinimprovingbreastcanceroutcomesthroughtranslationalscience.Thismultidisciplinary research extends across campus including the schools of Medicine, Engineering, Pharmacy, and Veterinary Medicine and engages breast cancer advocates. Horizontal collaborations include those acrossWisconsin,throughtheBigTenCancerResearchConsortium,nationaloncologycooperative groupsandindustrypartners. This position is full or part time, 80%-100% This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location. This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations.
