Industrial Electrical Technician II

Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Independently interprets electrical schematics and wiring diagrams; identifies discrepancies and communicates issues per established procedures.

Independently validates BOM accuracy and revision control, initiating corrective actions when discrepancies are identified.

Ensures correct material identification, traceability, and readiness to prevent production delays or errors.

Independently executes complex panel layouts and escalates design or fitment concerns through appropriate channels.

Performs wire preparation to workmanship standards; verifies compliance and trains Tier I technicians on cutting, stripping, crimping, and labeling techniques.

Resolves complex routing challenges independently to ensure reliability and serviceability.

Independently completes terminations and inspects work for compliance with drawings and specifications.

Applies and verifies controlled torque processes; identifies and resolves torque-related nonconformances.

Defines and applies wire management standards to ensure consistent organization across builds.

Independently performs standard soldering operations per IPC requirements.

Conducts advanced diagnostics on electrical assemblies, evaluates test results, and escalates systemic issues.

Performs functional electrical testing and documents results as required.

Leads nonconformance investigations at the workstation level and supports corrective and preventive action processes.

Ensures data integrity in labor, production, and inspection records; supports performance monitoring.

Independently verifies ESD compliance and grounding per documented controls.

Leads 5S activities at the workstation level and participates in broader continuous improvement initiatives.

Promotes a strong safety culture and supports hazard identification and mitigation.

Ensures assemblies are protected during handling and storage to prevent damage and maintain conformity.

Ensures document compliance and supports training activities.

Actively supports cross-training to increase operational flexibility.

Actively contributes to continuous improvement and error-proofing initiatives.

Safely works with live 120V electrical equipment within authorization limits and established safety controls.

Supports live 480V work.

Trains Tier I technicians on standard work processes and workmanship expectations.

Communicates clearly across functions to support quality and delivery.

Coordinates small work assignments with support from Team Leads.

Applies operational processes (DMR, PCO, etc.) independently and accurately.

Demonstrates awareness of business and quality performance indicators.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Work Experience

High school diploma or GED.

OSHA 10-Hour Electrical Safety Certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire/promotion).

NFPA 70E Certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire/promotion).

4-5 years of experience in industrial electrical assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.

Compensation Information:

$26.00 - $27.00/hr depending on experience
