Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join a team in Gilford, New Hampshire for a short-term Contract assignment expected to last 1-2 months. This role is ideal for someone who can step in quickly, manage a busy invoice workload, and support day-to-day accounting operations with accuracy and efficiency. The position also includes front-line phone support, ensuring incoming calls are handled professionally and directed appropriately.

Responsibilities:

Manage the full accounts payable cycle for a high-volume invoice environment, from receipt through final processing.

Review and assign proper coding to invoices to ensure accurate entry and alignment with accounting records.

Process vendor invoices in a timely manner while maintaining strong attention to detail and data accuracy.

Prepare and complete check runs according to payment schedules and internal approval requirements.

Monitor outstanding payables and help keep account records organized and up to date.

Respond to incoming calls professionally and route inquiries to the appropriate team members as needed.

Support daily accounting activities by maintaining consistent documentation and payment processing standards. Requirements - Hands-on experience in accounts payable, including invoice review, coding, and payment processing.

Ability to manage a large volume of invoices efficiently without sacrificing accuracy.

Experience preparing check runs and working within established payment timelines.

Familiarity with Sage Timberline software.

Strong attention to detail and solid organizational skills.

Clear and effective communication skills, including the ability to handle and redirect phone calls.

Availability to work onsite for the duration of this contract assignment.
