General Information

Como Park Elementary School is hiring an Education Assistant 2 for an Autism/Deaf/Blind Mod MH classroom. This position will start on September 8, 2026.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS One of the following: - An AA, AS, AAS (or higher) degree, OR - Two years of post-secondary coursework (60 semester credits or 90 quarter credits) from an accredited institution of higher education which are applicable toward a bachelor¿s degree, OR - Passing score on the ParaPro or Paraeducator Assessment AND either a high school diploma or a GED certificate.

PREFERRED - Experience working with children with disabilities. - Working knowledge of how-to problem shoot issues with iPads. - Knowledge of, or willing to learn, how to integrate technology into student programming. - Organizational skills that allow for school wide management of the media center, walkies and technology management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Basic skills in reading, writing and mathematics.

Basic skills in typing and duplicating may be required for some positions.

Experience working with children in an educational setting.

Ability to develop good relationships with students and staff.

Ability to be sensitive to the needs of others.

Ability to relate to students with warmth, friendliness and understanding.

Ability to work effectively in a team with a classroom teacher, support staff and other paraprofessional employees.

Some ability to perform basic signing with hearing impaired children may be required for certain positions.

Lifting may be required for some Teaching Assistant positions.

Must be on time to the job every day.

PAY, BENEFITS, AND WORK SCHEDULE

This is a 10 Month position.

Pay range for this position is: $25.04 - $39.31 EA2

Maximum hiring step EA2 = step fifteen (15)
