Scope of Role
Skanska USA Building Inc. (Skanska) is looking for a full-time Senior Marketing Director to oversee our Metro Region covering operations in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities:
Local & National Partner | participate on the local senior leadership team providing direction on local issues and business planning efforts, and on the national executive marketing leadership team contributing to the direction and goals of the national marketing team. Ability to develop and maintain partnerships is key.
Pursuit Leadership | facilitate and contribute to pursuit strategy sessions and oversee all aspects of pursuit deliverable production either directly or via assignment of staff. Market knowledge and creativity is critical.
Staff Development | hire, manage and develop marketing staff individually while reinforcing a strong teaming environment. Ensure staff accountability as well as career development progress for your team.
Workload Management | manage workload assignments while maintaining quality of process and product. It will fall to you to enforce boundaries while protecting positive, full-team dynamic.
Regional Public Relations Contributor | contribute to monthly public relations efforts, led by regional communications leader. Efforts focused on ensuring targeted sales messaging is consistent with our branding and client-centric content influences our markets towards greater recognition and sales.
Data Management | holding team responsible for maintaining accurate and timely pursuit information that
supports local and national efficiency and accuracy.
Budget Creation & Tracking | Ability to build and maintain an annual budget for your region.
Your Experience
10 to 15 years of prior marketing experience for a large architectural or construction firm in a similar capacity
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism or related discipline
Experience responding to RFQs, RFPs, collaboratively developing presentations and coaching interview rehearsals
Proficiency using Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office Suite
Understanding of the AEC industry

Meet with Business Development counterpart to discuss upcoming work and leveraging of AI tools within the pursuit process.
One-on-one meeting with a direct report to provide feedback on a recent proposal submission, allow her to role play a challenging conversation and get an update on her plan to organize annual award submissions for the office.
Facilitate a Strategy Session to advance our position on a critical pursuit expected within the next six months.
Provide feedback on a proposal draft in preparation for a red team review a staff member is leading.
Interview operations SMEs to refine our construction plan for an active pursuit with a focus on pulling out client benefits.
Meet with peer marketing leaders to plan national marketing goals for the upcoming year.
Meet with a national marketing coordinator to share details and direction on a pursuit you need to outsource.

Good to know
This position requires minimal travel between New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, although the bulk of your time will be in New York.
This job is performed in the office and requires frequent sitting (often working on a computer), frequent walking, standing, bending and reaching. Due to computer usage, there may be repetitive motions of the hands and wrists. You must be able to navigate jobsites and are expected to comply with all safety regulations. The work environment
is deadline driven and fast paced with projects and pursuits that may require time above and beyond the typical work schedule.
