About the Role
Validity's Accountant reports to the Supervisor of General Accounting and sits at the center of our monthly close process. You'll be responsible for preparing journal entries, updating reconciliations, contributing to reporting, and driving process improvement as a key preparer on our general ledger team. This role requires attention to detail, strong prioritization in a fast-paced environment, and a proactive approach.

Position Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and post journal entries as part of our monthly close process
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances in a timely manner
Support preparation of variance analysis reports
Partner with AP and AR to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and on time
Use AI tools to streamline repetitive tasks and improve close efficiency
Help build and document AI-assisted accounting workflows
Work closely with the broader Accounting team to hit close deadlines and maintain audit-ready books
Required Experience, Skills, and Education
Bachelor's degree in accounting
1 year of professional accounting experience or relevant internship experience
Basic knowledge of U.S. GAAP
Strong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, sumifs, and similar)
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to communicate clearly and work cross-functionally
Well-developed organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and hit deadlines
Exhibits intellectual curiosity and a desire to know the "why" behind a process. Experience following established procedures and flagging exceptions
Self-starter who identifies process gaps and drives improvements proactively
Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education
Experience with NetSuite, Navan, and Tipalti
Experience with month-end close processes, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals
Comfortable using AI assistants (e.g., Claude) to support accounting tasks such as reconciliations, variance analysis, or reporting
Base salary range $65,000 - $75,000, plus benefits, bonus opportunities and stock options. Final salary may vary depending on skills, location, and/or experience.
