Summary This position is located within a Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Medical Center (VAMC) at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The primary purpose of the Health System Specialist (Group Practice Manager) is to provide oversight and administrative management of all Clinic Operations & Access Management services in the VAMC and related Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) as it relates to access to care as applicable. Responsibilities Uses advanced principles and strategies for access improvement to review and provide guidance to Clinical Leads (CLs). Reviews and provides guidance to identify strategies to reduce backlog. Oversees and monitors existing or emerging workflow issues. Supports high quality, accessible, cost effective health care services. Ensures a high quality patient experience for the Veteran, by acting on feedback from the Veteran, his or her family and/or significant others, VAMC employees, and expert clinical staff. Identifies and implements improvements to optimize clinic management processes, access strategies, and decisions. Presents key management indicators to the Executive Staff. Works with Veteran Experience Advocates at the local VAMC to evaluate patient and family concerns regarding the access to services needed. Coordinates efforts with national requirements, including the MyVA alignment. Coordinates efforts to ensure patient concerns are received, evaluated, and addressed in a timely and effective manner by the appropriate subject matter experts. Ensures that processes and procedures developed are data-driven. Oversees the evaluation of outpatient care patient feedback for access and quality measures at the VAMC. Deploys an analytics system for the collection and analysis of outpatient care patient feedback for access and quality measures at the VAMC. Evaluates and recommends changes for continuous process improvement. Coordinates with the veterans experience, clinic management, scheduling, and analytic groups. Aligns local processes with planning and policies at the network and national access leadership levels. Interfaces with national leadership to ensure local policies and procedures are consistent with national policy. Identifies, defines, and prioritizes customer service tools, process improvement and training opportunities. Establishes benchmarks and a process for taking corrective actions on decreasing/low scores in Veterans/Staff experience data. Leads program planning and execution for VHA-approved program of clinic practice management at the VAMC level. Builds local program to implement all national guidance.
