Position Description:
We are seeking an experienced Functional Business Analyst with expertise in an ERP Finance application (FIN) to join our CGI team!
You will support the upgrade, enhancements, and maintenance of enterprise finance solutions for public sector clients.
The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, accounting offices, finance teams, and technical resources to analyze existing business processes, define functional requirements, configure application functionality, and support successful project delivery.
You will serve as the primary contact in ensuring that the ERP System Finance application supports payment processing, vendor management, general accounting functions and cost accounting.
This full-time career opportunity is located in our Los Angeles, CA office with work performed at client site in Downey, CA. CGI has an in-office policy that includes working onsite 2-3 days a week. For this project, a hybrid working model is possible, with the expectations of 25-50% onsite presence or as directed by the Project manager. At this time, members in the Los Angeles area are onsite one full week a month.
Typical Day
Meet with finance and accounting stakeholders.
Analyze business processes and identify improvements.
Configure and validate the ERP System FIN functionality.
Write functional specifications.
Support testing and production issues.
Participate in project meetings and budget planning activities.

Your future duties and responsibilities:
How you'll make an impact
Elicit, analyze, and document current business and new functional requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and process analysis
Analyze current budgeting and financial management processes and recommend system improvements
Configure and support the ERP Finance (FIN) application to meet client business requirements
Develop BRDs, FRDs, user stories, use cases, process flows, and functional design specifications
Execute system configurations and collaborate with technical teams for development related tasks
System test finance activities including accounts payables and receivables, general ledger, vendor management, cost accounting, cost allocation and other financial functions
Perform analysis on business processes improvements in line with the standard ERP system functionality
Coordinate and support UAT, SIT, and regression testing
Provide production support by troubleshooting functional issues
Create user documentation and training materials
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
What you'll bring
5+ years of Business Analyst experience supporting ERP or financial management systems
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Public Administration, or related field
Hands-on experience with an ERP system, preferably Finance (FIN)
Strong understanding of government accounting rules and processes
Experience gathering and documenting functional requirements
Knowledge and experience in Agile methodologies
Excellent analytical and communication skills
Desired Skills:
State or local (California) government accounting experience
Knowledge of ERP System Financial Management modules
SQL knowledge for data validation and reporting
Experience with Azure DevOps or Jira
Experience with ERP implementation projects

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $98,500.00 - $172,400.00.
