Job Title: Light Industrial Assembler
Job Description
This role focuses on assembling hydraulic hoses and related components in a light industrial environment. You will independently complete production assemblies, support inventory control activities, and help maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop. The position requires hands-on work with tools and equipment, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Assemble hydraulic hoses and complete finished assemblies according to specifications and quality standards.
Measure, cut, crimp, wrap, and install fittings on hose ends to prepare products for shipment.
Independently complete production tasks and assemblies from start to finish with minimal supervision.
Participate in inventory cycle counts, including tagging, stacking, sorting, and organizing stock to maintain accurate inventory levels.
Assist with order entry by accurately recording and updating order information in basic computer systems.
Use tape measures, hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to perform precise measurements and assembly work.
Inspect assemblies and components for quality, accuracy, and proper fit before shipment.
Clean equipment, tools, and all shop areas regularly to maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
Participate in lean activities and follow all safety regulations and procedures.
Make regular suggestions for improvement and contribute to continuous improvement projects related to lean practices, quality, and safety.
Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as needed to move materials and products.
Lift and move items up to 50 pounds independently as part of daily production and material handling tasks.
Essential Skills
Experience in light industrial production or assembly, preferably in assembling hoses or similar components.
Ability to measure accurately and read a tape measure with confidence.
Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for cutting, crimping, and assembling parts.
Ability to read and follow blueprints, diagrams, or work instructions for assembly tasks.
Basic computer skills to assist with order entry and simple data entry tasks.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently on a regular basis.
Experience with basic warehouse tasks, including cycle counting and inventory organization.
Comfort working both independently and as part of a small team once trained.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety in all tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Prior experience assembling hoses and using crimping tools.
Familiarity with inspection practices to verify quality and accuracy of assembled products.
Experience operating pallet jacks and other basic material handling equipment.
Exposure to lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Basic understanding of wiring or electrical assembly is a plus.
Comfort working on an assembly line and in a production environment.
Willingness to be cross-trained in multiple areas of the shop.

Work Environment
The role is based in a smaller facility with roughly ten people working in assembly, creating a collaborative and supportive shop atmosphere. You will be cross-trained across different areas, so you can expect to learn multiple processes and tasks throughout the shop. Work is performed on a first-shift schedule in a light industrial setting that involves regular use of tape measures, hand tools, power tools, crimpers, and basic material handling equipment such as pallet jacks. The environment requires comfort working both independently and in small teams once training is complete, with an emphasis on cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety practices.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
