Pickering Manor, Newtown's premier center for senior living, was opened in 1963 thanks to the generosity of Mr. Henry Russell Pickering. He bequeathed his home and a sum of money for the creation of a retirement center to serve the older citizens of Newtown and vicinity.

This unique non-profit retirement community is located in historic Newtown and is owned and operated by the Community Welfare Council of Newtown. Our mission is to support the people of our community to achieve the highest levels of independence, personal fulfillment and continued quality of life. Our unique approach to retirement living is enjoyed by many of our residents.

Responsibilities

Perform daily cleaning tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing residential spaces.

Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client needs and ensuring satisfaction.

Utilize floor care techniques to maintain cleanliness and appearance of various floor @types.

Utilize sanitation practices to uphold cleanliness and hygiene standards.

Utilize cooking skills to prepare meals if required.

Draw on janitorial, laundry, and custodial experience to deliver high-quality housekeeping services.

Apply knowledge from hotel and commercial cleaning experiences to meet industry standards.

Manage housekeeping tasks efficiently, including carpet cleaning and overseeing cleaning operations.

Qualifications

Core skills in cleaning, customer service, residential cleaning, floor care, and sanitation

Relevant experience in janitorial, laundry, custodial, hotel, carpet cleaning, housekeeping management, and commercial cleaning

This job requires a strong foundation in cleaning practices, customer service, and residential maintenance. Experience in janitorial, hotel, or commercial cleaning is beneficial. Additionally, proficiency in cooking and knowledge of sanitation protocols are valuable assets for this role.
