Summary This National Guard position is for a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2196000 and is part of the G4 located in Draper, UT, with the Utah Army National Guard. Responsibilities Major Duties: This is not an all-inclusive list As a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), GS-0346-9, you will: May serve as the developmental position for the ARNG Food Program Manager responsible and accountable for oversight of the entire state ARNG Food Service program which includes the administration of the Food Service Budget, Awards Program, new equipment fielding's, training, Army Food ManagementInformation System (AFMIS) and inspections. Exercises knowledge and application of Department of Army (DA), Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), National Guard Bureau (NGB), and state ARNG directives, policies and procedures, subsistence handling, storage, and sanitation methodology, plus food prime vendor food service ordering system, in addition to basic subsistence accounting procedures. Maintains oversight of daily, weekly, monthly, and long term system requirements, ARNG Readiness Center equipment modifications, and requirements to meet current workload demands. Budgets for subsistence operations and subsistence requirements, including operational ration ceilings. Develops for the DCSLOG-G4 recommendations, policies, procedures, long range plans, and special projects. Recommends solutions to controversial problems and actions of a precedent-setting nature, to include coordination with major commands and the Army Center of Excellence, Subsistence (ACES). Participates in field exercise planning sessions, discussing availability of subsistence, budgets, issue of operational rations and ARNG support to exercises. Coordinates veterinary staff support for cyclic inspections of operational rations as required. Provides technical liaison service to each ARNG unit, prime vendor, and other vendor companies. Provides subsistence support for troop movements, maneuvers, and emergency and contingency plan requirements, in addition to normal and daily support. Computes and publishes the Basic Daily Food Allowance (BDFA) for the ARNG State. Oversees food service contractor performance. Conducts local command competition through visits and evaluations to subordinate units with food service capability. In accordance with provisions of the Army Regulations internal control systems, initiates, accomplishes and maintains vulnerability assessments, internal control reviews, and, as applicable, proponent checklists. Facilities to ensure they remain within authorized standards and that required reviews areconducted. Ensure dining facilities and unit food services operate under regulatory requirements for Army feeding operations. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field. Experience using computer and automation systems. Specialized Experience: Must have 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-0346-07) Must submit SF 50 to validate response OR Have experience, education, or training which involved detailed knowledge of organizations and their functions in logistical support (i.e., supply, maintenance, quality assurance, facilities).
