Job Title: Construction Laborer - Solar Farm Decommissioning
Reports To: Site Supervisor / Foreman
Position Summary
The Construction Laborer is responsible for assisting with the safe dismantling, removal, and disposal of solar farm components during decommissioning projects. This role involves manual labor, equipment operation assistance, site cleanup, material handling, and adherence to all safety and environmental regulations. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and capable of performing physically demanding work in outdoor environments.
Essential Responsibilities
Assist with the removal and dismantling of solar panels, racking systems, electrical components, fencing, and related infrastructure.
Safely handle, sort, load, and transport solar farm materials for recycling, salvage, or disposal.
Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment under supervision.
Assist equipment operators during excavation, post extraction, and site restoration activities.
Perform site cleanup and maintain a safe, organized work area.
Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and environmental requirements.
Identify and report damaged equipment, safety hazards, and project concerns to supervisors.
Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment from trucks and trailers.
Participate in daily safety meetings and toolbox talks.
Support erosion control, grading, seeding, and land restoration activities as needed.
Work collaboratively with crew members to meet project deadlines and productivity goals.
Qualifications
Previous construction, demolition, solar, or general labor experience preferred.
Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools.
Basic understanding of construction site safety practices.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Valid driver's license preferred.
OSHA 10 certification preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier loads with assistance.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and rain.
Comfortable working on uneven terrain and construction sites.
Working Conditions
Primarily outdoor work at active solar farm decommissioning sites.
May require overtime, weekends, and travel depending on project needs.
Exposure to construction equipment, dust, noise, and changing weather conditions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Prior experience supervising or leading construction crews.
Experience with landfill and landfill gas construction operations.
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
Experience working in industrial or HVAC-related construction environments.
Comfort using computers or mobile devices for reporting and communication.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and site conditions while maintaining productivity.

Work Environment
This role is based on outdoor construction sites with regular exposure to weather conditions, noise, and heavy equipment. The position is fast-paced and hands-on, requiring frequent physical activity such as lifting, climbing, and working on varied terrain. You will work closely with laborers, subcontractors, inspectors, and project managers in a collaborative field environment. Travel between job sites is required as project needs dictate, and you will regularly use tools, equipment, and mobile technology to perform and document work.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr.
