Summary The primary purpose of the position is to serve as an Event Manager and to support the Veteran Health Administration (VHA) Chief of Learning Officer by assuring that all all education projects, program, and events are developed, organized, planned and conducted efficiently and economically within federal, DVA, VHA, ILEAD guidelines. This vacancy may be filled in Washington, DC or another location to be determined in a VA facility or other VA-leased space Responsibilities Schedules, designs, plans, and makes arrangements for national and regional events that require the development of new event plans, such as a conference covering a new education/training module/topic related to a DVA/VHA mission area. Determines necessary logistical requirements, and ensures all necessary logistical arrangements are made. Develops a long-range calendar of national and regional events and coordinates with appropriate DVA/VHA and/or outside contacts for site selection and meeting room assignments. Develops and manages multiple program and event checklists, including deadlines; and ensures chat all requirements are met. Makes arrangements to meet logistical needs including scheduling/coordination of meeting places, room set-up, decorations, and audio/visual equipment including Internet, light and sound equipment or other requested .technology components, such as video conferencing and audience response systems, food and beverage services, signage, security, transportation, and services for the disabled. Conducts a site walk-through with interested parties to coordinate the necessary details to ensure the success of scheduled meetings and events. Identifies and recommends procurement actions for services, equipment and supplies used to support food service and special events programs. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service.
