Medical TechnicianDepartment: KL Microbiology LabLocation: Rehab & PathologyLocation of Job: US:NY:WilliamsvilleWork Type: Full-TimeScheduled Work Hours: 2p-10p, 3p-11p, 4p-12aShift 2 Job DescriptionTo receive, order and prepare laboratory samples for analysis as well as perform laboratory tests/procedures on patient specimens in a prompt, accurate, and reliable manner under the direct supervision of a Clinical Lab Scientist, Laboratory Supervisor/Manager or Pathologist. Education And CredentialsAAS - Associate of Applied Science Medical Technology or as outlined in NYSDOE license requirements required. Lab Technician or Lab Technologist within 9 months required, or Lab Technician limited permit required. NYS DOE Clinical laboratory technician/technologist full license upon hire OR clinical laboratory technologist, limited permit required not necessarily prior to hire, however prior to starting. If working with laboratory technician limited permit, must obtain full licensure within 9 months of hire. If a hired employee meets the NYS DOE qualifications for a limited or full license, however, the official limited or full license will be delayed at NYS DOE due to processing time, KHL will allow the employee to start training with a non-licensed LIS security that does not allow the reporting of results. No patient specimens will be able to be tested or reported by the trainee until a limited or full Medical Technician NYS license (or Clinical Laboratory Technologist) is granted and verified by the NYS DOE.
