Northwest Florida Community Hospital Clinics is looking a full-time medical assistant.

Perform direct care for patients of all ages in the clinic to include, but not limited to, assessing vital functions, assisting physicians and advanced practitioners by performing venipuncture and basic lab tests, administering medications, maintaining controlled medications in secure areas, maintains sample drugs. Performs administrative duties as required to include coding and billing, transcription, and front office functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF COMPETENT PERFORMANCE FOR THIS POSITION :

Administrative Duties:

Answer telephones and transfer to appropriate staff member.

Meet and greet patients and visitors.

Schedule patients accordingly.

Proficient use in EMR

Maintains an accurate clinic electronic calendar

Create and modify documents using Microsoft Office

Insurance authorization and verification

Patient registration

Enters patient's charges daily

Obtains medical records as requested

Support staff in assigned project-based work.

Commits to outstanding guest relations and customer service; provides excellent customer service to meet the expectations of patients, visitors, and fellow associates; maintains courteous and professional conduct.

Supports and promotes the Mission, Vision, and Values; adheres to all Hospital policies and procedures; commits to the Standards of Conduct; maintains professional appearance

Clinical Duties:

· Triage patients

· Room patients

· Perform medical history taking

· Perform in office testing per clinic guidelines

· Performing venipuncture

· Performing specimen collection

· Perform vaccinations

· Administer medications

· Document correctly and efficiently in EMR

Education and Experience :

High School Graduation or Equivalent

Certified Medical Assistant preferred

BLS certification

Medical office experience preferred

For Direct Patient Care Positions Only :

Must have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care as defined by job responsibilities and performance standards in this job description to include Patient Safety Performance Standards for the identified population served below:

Pediatric (One month to 12 years)

Young Adult (18 to 35 years)

Adult (35 to 65 years)

Geriatric (65 years and over)

Individuals employed in this position may be exposed to one or more of the following: Disagreeable odors, chemicals, disinfectants, cleaners, soaps, etc.: latex, plastic and other materials used for person protective equipment; noise and distractions; unpredictable behaviors; and/or wet floors.
