Role Overview:
This role will be located at the Brookville Rd. INDOT location inside the shop area. You will be working in all aspects of the stockroom from ordering parts, billing parts to work orders for the mechanics, stocking inventory, counting inventory and handing out parts to highway maintenance personnel. This particular location has 2 stockroom workers that work together on a daily basis. Customer service is a high priority as well as being able to be a team player.

Salary:

A Day in the Life:
Summary/Objective:
Incumbent routinely works with sub district and shop personnel (i.e. HMA, inventory administrator, and central
office inventory managers) and other INDOT employees to determine automotive parts and supply needs.
Incumbent issues items and accurately updates the MCMS system.

What You'll Need for Success:
.Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent;
Must possess valid Driver's license;
Formal education in arithmetic that includes: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and
percentages;
Six (6) months training or six (6) months experience in inventory control;
Three (3) months training or three (3) months experience in OSHA and/or other safety standards and practices
applicable to storeroom or warehouse operations, or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment
noted above;
Knowledge of employee training and development, OSHA and/or other safety standards and practices
applicable to storeroom or operations;
Knowledge of agency storeroom or warehouse procedures;
Knowledge of agency purchasing and requisition warehouse procedures;
Knowledge of inventory control;
Skill in the operation of equipment and forklift;
Ability to recognize unusual or threatening conditions (e.g., chemical storage) and take appropriate action;
Ability to sort items into categories according to established methods; and,
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. of stock or equipment repeatedly.

Responsibility:
Essential Job Responsibilities:
The essential functions of this role are as follows:
Determines which INDOT procurement procedure is to be utilized when ordering stock;
Complies with requirements, completes the necessary documentation and submits the order;
Receives incoming orders, verifying completeness and accuracy;
Corrects any billing issues, errors, and disputes with vendors;
Determines destination of incoming stock;
Accurately completes the necessary procedures and MCMS system program;
Reviews, identifies, and recommends parts and supplies deemed overstocked or obsolete for the annual district
surplus sale;
Follows the established procedures;
Provides work direction and training in receiving, inspecting, storing, and distributing stock, supplies and/or
equipment, and recommends changes in and enforces storeroom or warehouse procedures;
Inventories and orders supplies and/or equipment;
Receives, inspects, stores and distributes items;
Completes and maintains shipping, receiving and inventory records;
Prepares or oversees preparation of requisition orders;
Assists in preparation of storeroom budget;
Oversees store room maintenance and maintains repackaging equipment;
Oversees record maintenance of lot numbers and expiration dates;
Unloads trucks and operates forklift and/or other equipment to move and store stock or equipment; and,
Performs other related job duties as assigned.

This individual will be expected to partner with agency personnel and related stakeholders working towards completion of assigned functions. Exceptional customer service is provided to agency partners and/or the general public.
Physical Effort:
This role performs work in an environment where sitting for extended periods of time could be expected.
This role requires the ability to lift/transport items up to 50 lbs with or without the assistance of equipment.
