Department of Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley invites applications for a Lecturer I position. The ideal candidate will possess significant professional experience in manufacturing or related fields and a passion for working in a collaborative environment. This non-tenure track position is designed to bring practical industry insights into the department and help grow faculty, students, and staff outreach opportunities. The faculty may be required to teach courses in Edinburg as well as the Brownsville campus of UTRGV .

The Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering ( MAIE ) Department at UTRGV offers an ABET accredited bachelor's degree of Manufacturing Engineering, a Master of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management. The department supports the Ph.D. programs in Materials Science and Engineering, and the Ph.D. in Computer Science with Interdisciplinary Applications. The position is open for a Non-Tenure Lecturer I (3-Yr) position in Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering Department. Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for a non-tenure track (3-Yr) appointment as Lecturer I, a master's degree in manufacturing, mechanical, industrial engineering or a related field of study from an Accredited institution is required. A Ph.D. in manufacturing, mechanical, industrial engineering or a related field is required to teach graduate-level courses.
Discipline Specific Required Qualifications
Candidate is expected to support undergraduate (BS) program in manufacturing and industrial engineering and should be able to teach undergraduate core courses. Teaching experience is desirable, as well as ability to use technology to support teaching and learning.

UTRGV is a distributed institution. As such and as assigned, the position may require presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Work is performed primarily in a general office environment. This position is security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code §51.215. The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas ( TRS ), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program ( ORP ) instead of TRS , subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
