Summary You will serve as a ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN LEADER in the ELECTRONICS MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT / N6 of NAVAL COMP TELCOM AREA WESTPAC. Responsibilities You will maintenance support for communications-electronics (CE) equipment that enables NCTS Guam to accomplish its mission. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance actions on electronic test equipment, High Frequency (HF), and Ultra High Frequency (UHF) equipment, systems, antennas, antenna structures, and ancillary equipment. You will ensure all Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) are calibrated within specifications and schedules transport to and from the Calibration Lab for TMDE due for calibration. You will maintain and review Work Center's Job Sequential Number (JSN)/ Job Control Number (JCN) log for each corrective maintenance action reported and ensure an OPNAV 4790/2K Maintenance Action Form is completed for deferred maintenance actions. You will maintain a detailed working knowledge of all equipment and system deficiencies within the Work Center. You will prepare reports on equipment activities and coordinate maintenance tasks and equipment downtime with other departments and customers. You will provide subject matter expert advice on identifying systemic problems or equipment malfunctioning trends and recommend modifications which will improve system operation or maintenance. You will provide guidance on operating, tuning, testing, aligning, inspecting, patching, and configuring electronic communications equipment as necessary to meet operational requirements. You will oversee testing and analysis of assigned system performance. Proactive System Enhancement: Analyzing equipment performance, identifying malfunctioning trends, and recommending modifications. 3. Force Multiplier and Mentor: Ensures tasks are completed efficiently, and provides expert guidance, elevating the performance and skill set of the entire work center and ensures the team's efforts are aligned with mission priorities and executed to the highest standard. 4. Guaranteeing Operational Readiness: Maintaining the health of critical High Frequency (HF) and Ultra High Frequency (UHF) communication systems and performing both preventive and corrective maintenance. 5. Safeguarding Personnel and Equipment: As the Tagout Authorizing Official, the incumbent holds a vital safety-critical responsibility. Proper execution of this duty prevents severe injury to personnel and protects multi-million-dollar equipment from damage during maintenance. 6. Maintaining Maintenance Integrity: Ensuring all test equipment is accurately calibrated is fundamental to effective troubleshooting. This guarantees that repairs are based on precise measurements, preventing misdiagnosis and ensuring that communications systems are performing exactly to specification.
