Sensor System Validation Engineer
Location: 100% Onsite in Foster City, CA | 5 days in office
Duration : 6 month assignment - Contract extension potential
Pay: Negotiable depending on direct related experience UP to $60 - $65/an hour
Type: W2 contract (C2C OR THIRD-PARTY arrangements will NOT be considered
What You'll Do:
Contribute to sensor systems (lidar / camera / radar) verification and validation (V&V) activities, for next generation vehicle platforms.
Work with systems engineers, software engineers and sensor hardware engineers to create, and iterate V&V methodologies for next generation sensor architecture.
Design and execute test plans in simulation environments to verify sensing systems requirements and validate system-level performance.
Translate bounding scenario requirements into actionable data mining plans, and execute the plans to create validation datasets.
Integrate and orchestrate software pipelines to convert sensor data into system-level KPIs.
Write reusable sensor systems analysis and test automation software (Python and/or C++).
Required Qualifications:
A Ph.D. degree in relevant fields OR a master degree in engineering with 3+ years work experience in sensor / perception systems development and/or testing.
Familiarity with at least one of the sensor modalities: camera, lidar and radar.
Experience with Data Mining (SQL, PySpark, Scala, or similar).
Experience analyzing data using Python or other high level languages (e.g. Matlab, C++).
Experience working and communicating in a collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with perception, autonomous vehicles or robotics.
Experience with systems engineering V&V.
Experience with sensor simulation, synthesis and/or fault injection.
Experience in test automation, particularly in production environments.
Experience with workflow orchestration.
